The Site of Dawenkou is located at the bank of the Dawen River on an outskirt of Tai'an City.

Originally discovered in 1959, it was unearthed in the same year. It is the site of a patriarchal society in the late Neolithic Age dating back to 4000-5000 years ago. There are remains such as graves and sites of houses. The unearthed treasures include two kinds of cultural relics. The first involves attractively shaped Back Kettle, Boxing tripod caldron, pierced standing cup, high standing Cup, and standing cup made of painted pottery. The second contains exquisite stone axe, stone adz, stone shovel, stone chisel and bone articles.
